About Craft Brew Festivals
Craft brew festivals are very popular around the country. Craft beer is becoming an
increasingly larger segment of the American brewing industry and these festivals
provide craft brewers with an opportunity to share their product with a large
segment of their consumers in an exciting and fun atmosphere. The largest one -
The Great American Beer Festival - takes place every October in Denver, CO.
There have been some festivals held locally, but never on the scale of the event that
we are planning.
About Pints for Pets Brewfest
Pints for Pets Brewfest is the only beer festival in Blair County. This year is Pints for
Pets inaugural year; the Pints for Pets Brewfest will be held at the Blair County
County Ballpark on Saturday, May 17 from 4 to 8 pm. 100% of ticket proceeds will
be donated to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society.
About the Central PA Humane Society
Each year the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society takes in over 5,000 animals
that have been surrendered, abandoned, or stray. Last year (2007) 1,438 dogs and
cats were surrendered by their owners for various reasons. The Shelter’s primary
mission is to help find loving homes for adoptable animals. The Humane Society
reunites lost pets with their owners, accepts strays and previously owned animals,
rescues injured animals, works with animal rescue groups, and investigates
incidents of animal cruelty.
