Is your pet “calendar worthy”?! Sign up today and enter your cat, dog, goldfish, etc. in our fundraising contest. All proceeds go to help the homeless animals at our shelter.
Here’s how it works:
You contact one of the following listed and approved photographers and make an appointment for a picture (pets only are allowed in the photo…no people). Just call one (pick one who might be the closest or more convenient for you) and he/she will tell you when to come for a photo shoot. You’ll pay just $10 and receive one (1) 5 by 7 photo (or 8 by 10 depending on photographer’s choice) and one (1) 3 by 5 photo. When you get your photos, pick up a collection can (we have a limited supply…or use your own). Just take your small photo, tape it to the can….and start collecting donations.
You’ll have until Saturday, June 9th to collect contributions. All donations must be turned in directly to the shelter. We prefer you total your donations and write a check for the full amount made out to simply: CPHS (note “pet calendar” on subject line of check). After all contestants’ donations are tallied, we’ll announce the winners (by the end of June).
- The top thirteen (includes January, 2009) vote-getters will be shown as months on the calendar (top vote-getter gets first choice of month with subsequent months chosen in descending order based on number of votes).
- The second twelve top fund-raisers will appear in smaller (wallet size) photos on an inside page in the calendar (“Honorable Mention”).
- Every entry (raising at least $20) will appear on the calendar.
- You may go door-to-door if you like but only if it’s legal in your town/borough/township.
- You may have your children; parents, other relatives or friends help you with the effort.
- Donations should be solicited only from places where you are welcome (especially in public areas).
- You may begin collecting as soon as you receive your photo from the photographer.
- Your photographer may be able to offer you additional photos of your pet. Each photographer is an independent “agent” and will be able to supply you with prices and photo packages if you are interested.
- You will also be supplied with an “official” receipt (and information form) from CPHS signed by the photographer and signifying you as a participant in this event (to show to anyone who might ask for proof).
- Before you make an appointment, make sure you know how/when your photographer should be paid. (the $10 fee).
