Ealier this year, we had sidewalks installed to lead from the building to our outside dog kennels. The work and materials were graciously donated, and much appreciated! The sidewalks are easier to clean and sanitize.

We are posed with a challenge with the winter weather. We don't have a snowblower to help us clear these beautiful new sidewalks. Can you help us find a donated snowblower? Or, can you help CPHS purchase a snowblower with a tax deductible donation? Please call us at 814/942-5402. Thanks!

On 11/7-11/8/09, PETCO will celebrate National Pet Adoption Weekend.
PETCO stores partner with local adoption groups to host a nationwide weekend of adoptions and kick off the PETCO Foundation's annual "Tree of Hope" Fundraiser to benefit local animal welfare groups.

Join CPHS at the Altoona Petco, 209 Falon Lane, Logantown Center, on Saturday 11/7/09 from 11am to 1pm. We'll have several of our adoptable furry friends there to greet you!

It's Chilifest time again - one of our favorite annual events!
Date: Sunday, November 8
Time: 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM (Doors open at 4:00)
Place: Ramada Inn Ballroom

Area restuarants and organizations will enter their chili in a contest to find out who makes the best bowl of chili around. Everyone gets to participate in a sampling of all the chilis throughout the night and votes on the "Public's Choice". A distinguished panel of judges will vote on the "Judges's Choice." This is also a tailgate party, as we will be playing the football game on a huge screen throughout the evening. It's a great time for a great cause! Tickets are $ 12 in advance and $ 15 at the door.
